One of my first projects for Specialized was to redesign the e-commerce checkout. The priorities were to create a process the let the user know where they were in the process, create a better experience and to build a design that could be implemented for mobile. I started by doing a lot of research, going through all industry best practices and I created three ideas for review. The idea that fit all the needs we called “modular checkout” and is the design that is currently running on Specialized.com in all countries that have e-commerce. This design was pretty easily modified for mobile and was launched shortly after the desktop version went live.
